Gulzarilal Nanda Biography
Gulzarilal Nanda Biography: Thin physique with a tall skinny face, khaddar kurtas, physique wrapped in pajamas, Gandhi cap on the head, a mustache scattered on the tall thin face – this was the identity of this man (Gulzarilal Nanda), who was known for his integrity and Gandhian ideology. Due to his unwavering faith in him, he reached the Prime Minister’s chair twice, albeit for a short time. There was no aspiration for any high position in this person, nor any political manipulation to reach the high position. There was only passion – the work of serving the country with Gandhian ideology.
He did not collect any kind of wealth throughout his life and the temptation to stick to politics was not visible even around him. No kothi-bungalow, factory, no partnership in anyone’s business – probably this was the reason that after retiring from politics, he spent most of his time living with his daughter. The life of a gentle sage associated with Gandhian and politics of the modern era, seeing which the heart itself swelled with awe. If the nation has bestowed such a person with the highest civilian honor “Bharat Ratna”, then it was the duty of a grateful nation that the nation itself has been honored by this work.
|Gulzarilal Nanda Biography|
Nanda ji (Gulzarilal Nanda) was born in Gadhthal of Sialkot (Pakistan) district. His father Bulaki Ram was a teacher in a school in Poonch. Bulaki Ramji had three children Gulzarilal Nanda and two sisters. The sisters’ names are Mela Devi and Parvati Devi. His mother’s name was Ishwari Devi. Nanda ji (Gulzarilal Nanda) got his early education at his maternal grandfather’s house. After passing tenth there was an opportunity to study in Forman Christian and Agra College in Lahore. M.A. To do so, he got admission in Allahabad University. From this he did his MA. Earned a degree in Economics and Law.
MA in Economics from Allahabad University After doing that, he started research work in relation to the labor movement. His theme was “History of Labor Movement”. In fact, no work had been done in relation to Indian laborers so far, so they had to visit various places to collect material for their dissertation. In this connection he went to Mumbai in April 1921. There he met Mahatma Gandhi.
In fact, by that time Mahatma Gandhi had become the inspiration for the freedom movement on the Indian horizon. In this way, the meeting of these two people, where the labor movement brought auspicious signs, there seemed to be the rise of a person in the history of the country who devoted his whole life to the ideal of Gandhiji. In order to collect information regarding the labor movement, Nandaji needed to go to such places where many factories and workers gathered.
At that time there were only two such places in India, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The work that Nanda has done in relation to living laborers has a special significance in the history of India. His efforts laid the foundation of the national labor movement. The industrial problems of India at that time were of a strange nature. There was no trade union in the country which was fighting for the workers. The working class was of great importance to Gandhiji’s freedom movement and he was well aware of it. He wanted the working class of the country to play an important role in the freedom struggle.
Thus the meeting of Nanda (Gulzarilal Nanda) with Gandhi proved to be a great transformational change in his life. If Nandaji had not met Gandhiji, then probably after completing his dissertation, Nandaji would have become the head of the Department of Economics in any university of the country, but on the call of Gandhiji, Nandaji (Gulzarilal Nanda) gave up without worrying about his bright future. adopted the path and handed himself over to Gandhiji.
This thing is from 1921. At that time Gandhiji’s non-cooperation movement had started, but here we want to tell in brief that Nanda (Gulzarilal Nanda) got M.A. And after getting the degree of law, in 1916 had to agree to the marriage. He was married to Lakshmi Devi in February 1916. In fact, this companion of his inspired him to move forward in his work. In short, I also want to tell here that Nandaji’s two sons and one daughter are the beauty of his family. Whose names are Narendra and Maharaj Krishna and daughter Pushpa Naik respectively.
