Mukul Nag was born on 25 October 1961. His father’s name is Sukumar Nag and mother’s name is Amita Nag. He spent his childhood at his maternal grandmother’s place in Meerut. When he was 12, he himself directed a play called Taimur Aur Balak. After completing his schooling, he came to Delhi. Here he did a diploma in acting from the National School of Drama. Mukul Nag ji was one of the best students of National School of Drama in India. After completing his diploma, he joined many theater groups and played. During this, a director of the play asked him to try in films, due to which he came to Mumbai.

Here he was asked by Papaji i.e. Ramanand Sagar to play the role of devotee Sudama in Shri Krishna. Mukul ji has played 3 characters in Shri Krishna serial, the character of Sudama, the second the character of a Brahmin and the third the character of Ashwatthama. He played all these three characters well. From here his work got respect and due to this he got the main character of Sai Baba in Sai Baba of Sirdi. Ramanand Sagar ji produced both the serials of Shri Krishna and Sai Baba of Sirdi. Where the serial Shri Krishna aired in 1994 and the serial Shirdi Ke Sai Baba in 2003 aired on Doordarshan. This was the result of his work and dedication. He got tremendous recognition from Shirdi’s Sai Baba serial. Now let’s talk about how he got these characters.

First of all, let’s talk about the character of devotee Sudama ji, then when he got the character of Sudama, he laughed because Sudama was thin and he was hustpust. They did not know whether Sudama’s character would be played or not. Eventually he agreed to play the role of Sudama. At the time when he had to do this role, the hair on his head was very big. When he was prepared for the shoot, he did not like the look. They came bald without informing anyone. Getting ready to come back bald. The dhoti I got to wear was washed. They thought Sudama ji was poor. So he made that dhoti dirty by rubbing it on the ground by rubbing it with his feet. And after that when they got ready and reached the set, Moti Sagar ji felt that some beggar had come inside. He said how did this beggar come in, take him out. Then when he came to know that this is Mukul Nag ji, he laughed. In this way he played the character of Sudama and then Ashwatthama.

Now let’s talk about the character of Sai Baba, Mukul Nag had said in an interview to Sai Leela Times that Papaji i.e. Ramanand Sagar ji had asked me before giving the role of Sai Baba, how are you doing this character. In response to this, Mukul ji said that I will complete my work with full devotion. For the role of Sai Baba, he had to audition 4 times and give look test 3 times. He had read all the books related to the life of Sai Baba. He was completely taken out in his life. From repeated auditions, he felt that he did not know whether he would get this character or not. On the way there used to be a Sai temple. There he used to pray every day to get this character done. Whenever I speak, I will do this character. Sai Baba’s set was installed in Baroda. When the first take was to take place, it took a long time and when the first take was final, the cameraman also cried seeing his performance. From here he got more courage and the whole serial was completed.

Mukul Nag ji also has his own production house. He has made a film called Zarb Prahar Shabda Ka under his banner. For which he has also received the Best Debut Director award from NMIFF and International Film Festival of Prayag in the year 2017.

Shri Mukul Nag is an Indian actor. He is known for his excellent artistry. If we talk about personal life, then he married Indira Mishra ji. They also have two girls from this marriage, whose names are Pakhi Nag and Priyambada Nag. Talking about faith, his adoration is Shri Krishna, but his life is also influenced by Sai Baba and has also brought him into his life.
